Veteran home care most often means helping with activities of daily living. Also called ADLs, these include assisting with:

  • Personal hygiene. A wide range of activities, from brushing teeth to combing hair.
  • Restroom use. As much assistance as needed when your loved one needs to use the restroom.
  • Bathing and showering. Respectful assistance to safely bathe and shower.
  • Dressing. Helping don clean, appropriate clothing in the morning, and changing for bed at night.
  • Transfers. For those with limited mobility, help moving around their home or facility, and getting up and down from their bed or couch or in and out of their wheelchair.
  • Incontinence care. If your loved one struggles with incontinence, we will make sure that they are clean, dry, and comfortable.

Non-Medical Home Care For Veterans

Non-medical home care for Veterans may include the activities of daily living listed above. This may also include help with activities around the home to improve your loved one’s quality of life. We can help with these instrumental activities of daily living, also called IADLs:

  • Meal preparation. If your loved one can no longer safely cook for themselves, a trusted caregiver will prepare meals to make sure that they eat regular, nutritious meals in accordance with their dietary restrictions. We will handle everything from preparation to cleanup.
  • Light housekeeping. A clean home can make a significant difference in your loved one’s mood. We can help keep the home clean by vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and taking out the trash.
  • Grocery shopping. Our caregiver can assist with the grocery shopping so there is always food in the house.
  • Companion care. Companionship is essential to a better quality of life. Our compassionate caregiver will build a personal relationship with your loved one through friendly conversation and fun activities.
